Fun and adrenalin in a wild environment. An adventure in beautiful natural settings, normally hidden from the eyes of other tourists.
Lake Garda is originally glacial and its torrents have formed deep ravines over the years which are perfect for canyoning.
Don’t confuse canyoning with rafting. Both take place on river courses but canyoning brings you down the water flow by foot along steep ravines with narrow sides.
You may have to make your way down attached to a rope to get over waterfalls or boulders. You may have to dive and jump into natural crystal clear rock pools. You may have to slide your way over rocky stretches being borne along by the water currents.
Canyoning is a group sport, suitable for anyone who is reasonably fit, as long as you aren’t afraid of water or trying your limits.
You can trust our local alpine guides who know the canyons well and the techniques you will need to get down them.
Three canyoning trips in Trentino and Lake Garda
In the Ledro valley, there are two torrents in the Ampola Valley: the Rio Nero (Black River) and the Palvico Torrent. The third canyoning trip is at Tignale along the Vione torrent.
The Rio Nero is narrow and surrounded by high rock faces. There are lots of jumps but there aren’t any obligatory dives. The highest waterfall is 15 m. We can really recommend this one especially as first canyoning.
The Palvico canyon experience is of medium difficulty. It is really fascinating, one of the most interesting in North Italy. The route finishes with a descent of 50m.
Canyoning on the Vione torrent takes place in an open and sunny area, with lots of slides and a final descent of 50m. It can happen that in the summer there isn’t enough water to do this canyoning.
We do all these canyon trips every year and each time we have as much fun as the first time. You just need to want to do it and we’ll take care of the rest.
Looking forward to seeing you!
