Camping Lombardi

We reserved a pitch at this camping. They advertise on their website that they offer large pitches, but up on arrival we found out that they had only a very tiny spot for us, which could not accomodate our tent. The management was not willing to return our 100 euro downpayment. Very dissapointed we left the camping but luckily we found the very nice camping Martora nearby

The location is good, not directly at the see & street and therefore quite. Nice olive trees that separates the camping areas and give shadow.
Bath & WC clean and functional, but no soap, paper towels of toilet paper provided – not quite a standard.
Have a Bar & little shop with good prices. Also a roofed area to sit and eat
I would not recommend for tents, as the ground is pure soil, no grass. Makes things quite dirty, specially when you face some raining days
Could get very crowed in high season, not a lot of space between camping cells and (except from bar) no common areas.
Price (20€ for Motorbike & tent) was OK

We visited Lake Garda with a particular interest in windsurfing there. We booked this camp-site because it was the only one in the are which would take a booking for less than 7 days.

First the windsurfing.
Best wind early in the morning. My husband took his windsurfing equipment to a nearby beach on a trolley but be warned it is three quarters kilometre up hill on the way back. There is little parking by the lakeside and campsite vehicle entrance is closed until 7am so trolley is probably the best option.

The camp-site itself has modest size pitches as is typical of camp-sites in this area where flat land is in short supply. The camp-site facilities were the cleanest I have seen in a long time although the lack of toilet paper and soap dispensers in the facilities could be a nuisance.

There is a barbecue style restaurant next door and pizza restaurants nearby. Bread can be ordered on site and there is a small restaurant/bar on site.

The nearest shop is on the lakeside but has limited goods and main shopping place is in Malcesine itself.
There is a pedestrian/cycle path into Malcesine which takes about 30mins+ to walk when it is hot. Remember to save some energy for the walk up-hill at the end!
