Running is great. Running is good for body and mind.
It helps to improve your endurance and your concentration: it is relaxing and it’s a way to recharge your batteries. But this is something that you already know, right?
At Lake Garda you will find the right route for you: you can run anywhere, both short or long distances, far from the traffic of the city. There are plenty of kilometers on cycle lanes and paved roads, on the flat or slightly uphill.
If you are looking for a more varied kind of training or uphill running you can run on the hills, among the olive tree groves, enjoying a wonderful hill-top panorama of the lake.
If you want to experience trail running, then you have woods and an entire mountain at your disposal with different kind of ground: stones, moved stones and undergrowth, on different slopes. Everything depends on your training level.
The running and trail races on Lake Garda
The race season for running and trail at Lake Garda starts in spring.
If you prefer marked trails the Garda Trentino Trail, runs on four distances at Lake Garda, at Ledro of Tenno.
At the end of the summer along the single tracks of Limone sul Garda the Limone Extreme (specialità Vertical & SkyRace)
takes place which is part of the Skyrunner World Series.
Do you know the Baldo Vertical Running – La Telegrafada?
It is a race in the mountain for teams composed by three athletes and starts from Rifugio Novezzina to end at Rifugio Telegrafo on Monte Baldo.
The next is the Lake Garda Marathon with the classic distance of 42,195 km and some other shorter routes. Right after it starts the Garda Trentino Half Marathon with the classic 21,097 km and other three shorter ones.
The year ends with the trail race Garda Trentino Xmas Trail that takes place a few days before Christmas along the trails of North Lake Garda.
