Apartments on Lake Garda for biking and trekking

Welcome to “Casa Facchinetti”.
Our apartments are only 50 meters away from the beach, and 1,5 km from Malcesine towncenter. All have access to the lovely garden and have modern conveniences, including air conditioning and heating, satellite TV, linen, towels and cutlery. Each also has a parking area of its own. The garden is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing during the day or for leisurely grilling in the evening. Dogs too are welcome.

I’m guide of the National Mountainbike Academy, you’ll discover the beautiful and numerous DOWNHILL, FREERIDE, ALL MOUNTAIN and X-COUNTRY trails of Monte Baldo. I’ll be really happy to give you all the info about the trails around Garda Lake.

We stayed for 1 week after being invited to attend a close friend’s wedding at Malcesine Castle in July 2012. We travelled with an 8 year old child and our friends, also seeking accommodation suitable for children, stayed in the ajoining apartments (I believe there are 4 in total) the owners live above.

Booking was incredibly easy, we booked a year in advance and paid just 20% deposit to hold our accommodation. The weeks stay worked out around e450. Which to me was wonderful value for money. Matteo is lovely and he made the booking and arrival so easy for us and gave us advice on where to go to eat, travelling around and airport transfer arrangements. Its about an hour and a half to airport.

I dont recommend taking a bus to verona (yeeesh, not fun!!!!) use a taxi!! its worth it for sanity.

We had a spacious, clean apartment with space for us all. Cooking facilities, lovely rooms and bathroom and was a mere 10 minute walk down to the lake from hotel opposite or down the road and a lovely relaxing walk taking 20-25 minutes (depending how fast you walk!) into the centre of town. Do look at alternative routes into town as road can be busy and there isnt a clear walkway, just get down to the lake and walk along there for safety….and astoundingly beautiful surroundings.

Close to road but not at all noisy – secure gates and lovely gardens.

I would recommend paying for aircon or fans if you stay in Italy over the summer! It gets very hot and sweaty. We were very comfortable and it was lovely that my child was up early each morning to eat her breakfast on the terrace.

She also made friends with Matteo’s daughter and the language barrier was no problem for two little girls with lots in common. The language of friendship can overcome most issues : )

I would highly recommend this property – having seen them all (as friends were staying too) I can honestly say that for small families, this location is ideal.

We hope to someday return to Malcesine and when we do, we will be staying at Casa Faccinetti.

Great little apartment close to town centre and very reasonable price. Clean, well maintained and Matteo (owner) and his parents very helpful. Really pretty private garden and although close to busy road our apartment was not noisy. Supermarket within short walk and main centre easy walk also. Nicest walk into town was by going through Hotel de Lac opposite. Just buy a coffee or glass of wine and hotel is very welcoming and you can walk thru to lakeside so avoiding busy road. No toaster- this our only gripe as kitchen generally well equipped. Shared taxi transfer was fine on inward journey but very late on return journey – you need to allow at least 2.5 hours in airport as it isvery busy- we nearly missed our flight. Journey to airport took 1 hr 15 mins. We would certainly use apartment again

Some good friends of ours got married in the nearby Castle so we took up all 3 apartments for the week.

they are only a short walk away from the village where there are plenty of bars and restaurants and places to shop, we also weren’t very far from the local Spar shop perfect for getting your shopping for your self catering stay, the cash point if needed is on the way to the shops.

although there is no pool being so near to the lake it was not important for us we went for out daily swim/cool down in the lake.

We had the apartment right next door to the car garage but not once did we here any noise from them at all!

The gardens are clean and secure and full of lovely flowers and wildlife, loads of small wall lizards and butterflies.
