Points of interest along this running trail

This route passes through Contrada La Cà which today is the Tenuta Cervi’s entry, a property offered by Count Bonoris to Don Provolo Institute of Verona. You can find a little church consecrated to Saint Peter and a few houses where people working in Tenuta Cervi once lived.
Contrada La Cà is located immediately after Ponte del Diavolo (the Devil’s bridge): according to oral tradition, there was a lair of forgers close to the bridge.

Tour description

Follow the main street northward from the parking lot next to the church in San Zeno to Contrada Laguna. After a while, when the road goes down and the descent starts, turn right in a flat street following road signs to Ponte del Diavolo.

Follow the road and, after the small bridge go up on the road rising to Tenuta Cervi. Keep going on a compact and even dirt road. Don’t leave the main path with its light ups and downs until you reach Cà del China where you will meet and cross the path to Prada.

Go straight on and, once you reach the gate, go back following the same itinerary.

Variant

The route is 15 km long starting from the church but if you think it is too long, you can reduce it: start your tour from Contrada Laguna, to have a 9 km long tour.

You can take the path going up on the right in Cà del China to reach Prada or, turn on the left in the path going down on the road leading you up from Castelletto di Brenzone to San Zeno.
Be careful, as the road surface and the difficulty change considerably. You will have to run on steep mule tracks and bumpy roads.

Our suggestions

  • This route is particularly fascinating in autumn because of its beautiful colours.
  • Do not enter with your car in the Tenuta Cervi and Ponte del Diavolo as it is a controlled traffic zone.
  • Be careful: in some part of this area picking up chestnuts is forbidden.
